After a female hair transplant, your scalp may be sore and sensitive. Your hair transplant surgeon may ask you to take painkillers for several days. You will also need to wear bandages on your scalp for at least a day or two. The doctor may also prescribe an antibiotic or an anti-inflammatory to be taken for several days.
Most patients can return to work 2-5 days after their female hair transplant. The transplanted hair will fall out – within 2-3 weeks after the surgery – which is completely normal. You should start noticing new hair within a few months. Some hair transplant surgeons prescribe minoxidil (Rogaine) to promote hair growth after hair transplant.
